Jeff Mackin is a Montgomery native and a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School, where he was a member of the 1987 6A State championship team and earned the All-Metro Player of the Year award as a senior in 1989. He signed at Mississippi State University where he was a four-year starter under the legendary head coach Ron Polk. Mackin played on multiple NCAA regional teams at MSU, and coached at UAH in 1996-1997. He currently coaches in the Pike Road Baseball travel organization.
